Writer and director Marshall Cook takes audiences behind the curtain of the indie film world with his latest feature FILM FEST, which premiered at the Austin Film Festival and is now available on Amazon and iTunes. The film offers a humorous and insightful look at the perceived glitz of film festivals, featuring Matt Cook (Man With A Plan), Diona Reasonover (NCIS), and other familiar faces including Will Sasso, Ellen Wong, Rachael Leigh Cook, and Laird Macintosh.

Marshall’s passion for storytelling began at just nine years old, creating video projects for school. Born in Santa Rosa, California, he went on to graduate from Occidental College, Los Angeles, with a degree in Film and New Media Production and a minor in Theater. He has worked extensively in front of and behind the camera, directing, writing, producing, and editing over 50 commercials alongside producing partner Tyler A. Hawes through Convoy Entertainment.

At 27, Marshall directed, co-wrote, produced, edited, and starred in his first feature, Division III: Football’s Finest, and has since carved a niche in indie filmmaking. Outside of film, he enjoys DIY home improvement, giving back to dog rescue organizations, and sharing his life online via @thismarshallcook on Instagram.

Sit back and enjoy Marshall Cook’s take on filmmaking, festival culture, and the heart behind indie storytelling.
