On this episode, I’m joined by the gorgeous and hugely talented Nadia Jordan and the equally talented and great-fun Henry Hereford to talk about their latest film, For the Love of George — a charming indie comedy with heart, humour, and a wonderfully off-beat premise.
Nadia wears several impressive hats on this project. Not only does she star as the film’s lead, Poppy, but she also wrote and produced the film. The story centres on a woman reeling from heartbreak after being jilted by her husband. Rather than wallow, Poppy flees London and heads to Los Angeles to stay with her best friend Rex (played brilliantly by the always delightful Rex Lee). Armed with determination and a slightly unhinged plan, Poppy decides the best way to mend her broken heart is simple: meet George Clooney and make him fall in love with her.
What follows is a series of fun, heartfelt, and often hilarious antics as we follow Poppy’s journey through LA. The film strikes a lovely balance between genuine laugh-out-loud moments and relatable emotional beats, never losing sight of the vulnerability beneath the comedy.
Henry Hereford plays Stephen, Poppy’s cheating husband — a role that could easily slip into one-note villain territory. Instead, Henry brings real nuance to the character, to the point where, despite his betrayal, you find yourself unexpectedly empathising with him. It’s a testament to both the writing and Henry’s performance that Stephen feels human rather than purely antagonistic.
The performances across the board are strong, but for me, Rex Lee steals the show, delivering warmth, humour, and impeccable timing. His chemistry with Nadia adds an extra layer of heart to the film and elevates many of its best moments.
In our conversation, Nadia and Henry talk openly about making For the Love of George, the realities of acting, the importance of supporting independent film, and what it takes to bring a passion project to life. It’s a relaxed, honest, and fun chat that mirrors the spirit of the film itself.
