Linc Hand brought grit, authenticity, and a strong sense of camaraderie to the military dramedy 68 Whiskey, a show celebrated for its raw honesty, dark humor, and unfiltered look at life in a combat zone. In a recent interview, Hand reflected on his time on the series, the unique tone of the show, and what it meant to be part of an ensemble that felt more like a real-life unit than a cast.

Entering the World of 68 Whiskey
Hand described joining 68 Whiskey as stepping into something refreshingly different. “It wasn’t your typical war show,” he explained. “There was comedy, chaos, and absurdity, but underneath it all was a lot of heart. That balance is what made the show feel honest.”

He spoke about how quickly the cast bonded. “From early on, it felt like we were building a real unit. That sense of brotherhood wasn’t forced—it grew naturally, and I think that’s why it translates so well on screen.”

Finding the Reality in the Role
For Hand, grounding the character in reality was essential. “Even in the wildest or funniest moments, these characters are dealing with real pressure, danger, and emotional weight,” he said. “My goal was always to make sure those moments felt truthful, not exaggerated.”

He emphasized that 68 Whiskey succeeded because it wasn’t afraid to show contradictions. “You can be laughing one minute and dealing with something deeply serious the next—that’s real life, especially in high-stress environments.”
